This recruitment is open to public and will establish an Open eligible list to fill one (1) current vacancy and future Supervising Public Health Microbiologist vacancies. This eligible list may also be used to fill positions in similar and/or lower classifications throughout the County of Orange.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Health Care Agency is recruiting for a Supervising Public Health Microbiologist (SPHM) to oversee the Virology/Serology Department which performs testing for diseases such as Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Syphilis, Measles, and Influenza.
This is the advanced classification in the Public Health Microbiologist occupational series. SPHMs ensure competency and proficiency of staff on all test methods in their departments, the adherence to standardized operating procedures and following safety and quality assurance practices.
