Heluna Health and the Foodborne and Waterborne Diseases Section of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) are recruiting for the position of Research Microbiologist for the Shigellosis Program.


SUMMARY

The Shigellosis Project is a 1.5-year research project that aims to study the clinical and microbiological outcomes of patients infected with Shigella that may have reduced susceptibility to antimicrobial drugs. Under the direction of the Supervisor of the Foodborne and Waterborne Diseases Section Detection Unit of the Microbial Diseases Laboratory, the microbiologist performs duties associated with the receipt, processing, culture, serotyping, antimicrobial susceptibility testing and genotyping of Shigella isolates and clinical specimens. The project is funded through June 30, 2020.
