A Modernized Approach to Public Health Infrastructure
A look at the San Diego County state-of-the-art Public Health Laboratory at the county operations center in Kearney Mesa San Diego, CA is nearing completion, with an anticipated opening in late spring 2025. This laboratory is designed as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) laboratory for San Diego and Imperial Counties and will play a crucial role in responding to public health threats. The project is supported by funding from the CDC Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity fund and the State’s Future of Public Health program, reflecting a strong commitment to modernizing public health infrastructure in the region.
